Test Reports – DoTerra, Young Living, Plant Therapy, and More!

TestingPicture

After the initial Cinnamon debacle with Young Living, we had decided to get Cinnamon Bark from other companies tested to see if this was more of an industry wide problem, or maybe a supplier issue. During this time, there were several requests for YL Lavender or another oil grown by YL on their farms to be tested as well as German Chamomile (commonly adulterated). In a matter of a couple days, we crowd funded enough money to have Cinnamon Bark from 4 other companies tested, as well as the two from Young Living (Lavender and German Chamomile).

I’m happy to report that all 6 test results came back with a passing mark! You can find the full reports and summaries below:

This is what we like to see! Pure, unadulterated Essential Oils!!

Our last round of funding was completed a few days ago and all oils have been ordered and shipped to the labs for testing. We will have a total of 7 results coming from various companies, including Young Living. All test results will be posted here so be sure to check back or subscribe below to be notified of updates!

We’ve started our next fund raiser which is labeled as “The Big MLM Test Round” where we will be testing 7 products from DoTerra and 7 products from Young Living!

Yours in health,

Miles

I read with interest and concern the response to the suggestion that the lavender oil tested probably was adulterated with lavandin. If you price your oils you would learn that lavender (lavandula augustifolia) has increased significantly in the past two years whereas lavandin (lavandula hybrids grosso) is significantly cheaper. I wonder if the company is cutting costs by adding a percentage of lavandin to the lavender essential oil? You would be very hard pressed to pick the extremely subtle difference between the aromas of the two.

Thanks again Miles for your bringing some much needed transparency to the industry and keeping the suppliers accountable.

I would like to see testing done on Eden’s Gardens. Because the MLM companies charge so much for their oils I find EG affordable, however I don’t want to compromise quality and safety for price.

You know mlm companies charge like any other. Every company has an advertising budget. Mlm companies simply pay the distributors and have NO middleman and no $1million dollar per second advertising spot on tv like Budweiser or coke. Think about it.

I would also like to see EG oils tested – no reason to be sheeple and Justin “take everyone’s word for it” . What makes RG above reproach?

I like Edens Garden too. I have done some MLM stuff and it is too expensive. Everybody has their hand out.

Did you send the samples to more then one lab for testing? I always find it better to have different opinions before believing any statement…

Well according to YL Miles, these tests shouldn’t be trusted. According to them (from their previous replies) GC/MS tests aren’t trustworthy in determining if an oil is pure. And since you didn’t use their “expert” scientists, then these tests can’t be trusted .

I use yleos for health and healing and am very concerned about their purity and safety. A few drops of thieves on the tongue is our family’s first go to for a scratchy of sore throat. I’ve never been interested in the business end, but use yleos for our medicine cabinet.
Do you have a fb page I can follow? I’m not much of a Twitter user.

      Hi Julie,

At this time I don’t have a Facebook Page. I used to but when the FDA compliance issues started coming up, I removed it as it was too much work to go through each and every post individually and remove non-complaint ones. One day in the future I will likely have one again. For now feel free to check back here for updates.

      Regards,
      Miles
